| 17 | أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ | "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" | Then send with us the children of Israel. | (Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us. |
| 37 | يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ | "And bring up to thee all (our) sorcerers well-versed." | That they should bring to you every skillful magician. | Who shall bring unto thee every knowing wizard. |
| 46 | فَأُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سَاجِدِينَ | Then did the sorcerers fall down, prostrate in adoration. | And the magicians were thrown down prostrate. | And the wizards were flung prostrate. |
| 47 | قَالُوا ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ | Saying: "We believe in the Lord of the Worlds. | They said: We believe in the Lord of the worlds. | Crying: We believe in the Lord of the Worlds. |
| 48 | رَبِّ مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ | "The Lord of Moses and Aaron." | The Lord of Musa and Haroun. | The Lord of Moses and Aaron. |
| 53 | فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِي الْمَدَائِنِ حَاشِرِينَ | Then Pharaoh sent heralds to (all) the Cities. | So Firon sent heralds into the cities. | Then Pharaoh sent into the cities summoners. |
| 54 | إِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِيلُونَ | (Saying): "These (Israelites) are but a small band. | Most surely these are a small company. | (Who said): Lo! these indeed are but a little troop. |
| 55 | وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَائِظُونَ | "And they are raging furiously against us. | And most surely they have enraged us. | And lo! they are offenders against us. |
| 56 | وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَاذِرُونَ | "But we are a multitude amply fore-warned." | And most surely we are a vigilant multitude. | And lo! we are a ready host. |
| 57 | فَأَخْرَجْنَاهُمْ مِنْ جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ | So We expelled them from gardens, springs. | So We turned them out of gardens and springs. | Thus did We take them away from gardens and watersprings. |
| 58 | وَكُنُوزٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ | Treasures, and every kind of honourable position. | And treasures and goodly dwellings. | And treasures and a fair estate. |
| 60 | فَأَتْبَعُوهُمْ مُشْرِقِينَ | So they pursued them at sunrise. | Then they pursued them at sunrise. | And they overtook them at sunrise. |
| 64 | وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ الْآخَرِينَ | And We made the other party approach thither. | And We brought near, there, the others. | Then brought We near the others to that place. |
| 65 | وَأَنْجَيْنَا مُوسَى وَمَنْ مَعَهُ أَجْمَعِينَ | We delivered Moses and all who were with him. | And We saved Musa and those with him, all of them. | And We saved Moses and those with him, every one. |
| 66 | ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا الْآخَرِينَ | But We drowned the others. | Then We drowned the others. | And We drowned the others. |
| 69 | وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ | And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story. | And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. | Recite unto them the story of Abraham. |
| 72 | قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ | He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" | He said: Do they hear you when you call? | He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? |
| 73 | أَوْ يَنْفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ | "Or do you good or harm?" | Or do they profit you or cause you harm? | Or do they benefit or harm you? |
| 76 | أَنْتُمْ وَءَابَاؤُكُمُ الْأَقْدَمُونَ | "Ye and your fathers before you?. | You and your ancient sires. | Ye and your forefathers! |
| 78 | الَّذِي خَلَقَنِي فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ | "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me. | Who created me, then He has shown me the way. | Who created me, and He doth guide me. |
| 79 | وَالَّذِي هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِ | "Who gives me food and drink. | And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink. | And Who feedeth me and watereth me. |
| 80 | وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ | "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me. | And when I am sick, then He restores me to health | And when I sicken, then He healeth me. |
| 88 | يَوْمَ لَا يَنْفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ | "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail. | The day on which property will not avail, nor sons | The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man) |
| 95 | وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ | "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. | And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. | And the hosts of Iblis, together. |
| 96 | قَالُوا وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ | "They will say there in their mutual bickerings. | They shall say while they contend therein. | And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein. |
| 97 | تَاللَّهِ إِنْ كُنَّا لَفِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ | "'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest. | By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error. | By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest |
| 99 | وَمَا أَضَلَّنَا إِلَّا الْمُجْرِمُونَ | "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. | And none but the guilty led us astray. | It was but the guilty who misled us. |
| 100 | فَمَا لَنَا مِنْ شَافِعِينَ | "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us). | So we have no intercessors. | Now we have no intercessors |
| 101 | وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ | "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). | Nor a true friend. | Nor any loving friend. |
| 105 | كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ الْمُرْسَلِينَ | The people of Noah rejected the messengers. | The people of Nuh rejected the messengers. | Noah's folk denied the messengers (of Allah). |
| 107 | إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ | "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. | Surely I am a faithful messenger to you. | Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you. |
| 108 | فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ | "So fear Allah, and obey me. | Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me | So keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. |
| 110 | فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ | "So fear Allah, and obey me." | So guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me. | So keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. |
| 114 | وَمَا أَنَا بِطَارِدِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ | "I am not one to drive away those who believe. | And I am not going to drive away the believers. | And I am not (here) to repulse believers. |
| 115 | إِنْ أَنَا إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُبِينٌ | "I am sent only to warn plainly in public." | I am naught but a plain warner. | I am only a plain warner. |
| 117 | قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِي كَذَّبُونِ | He said: "O my Lord! truly my people have rejected me. | He said: My Lord! Surely my people give me the lie! | He said: My Lord! Lo! my own folk deny me. |
| 120 | ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ الْبَاقِينَ | Thereafter We drowned those who remained behind. | Then We drowned the rest afterwards | Then afterward We drowned the others. |
| 123 | كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ الْمُرْسَلِينَ | The 'Ad (people) rejected the messengers. | Ad gave the lie to the messengers. | (The tribe of) A'ad denied the messengers (of Allah). |
| 125 | إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ | "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. | Surely I am a faithful messenger to you. | Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you. |
| 126 | فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ | "So fear Allah and obey me. | Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me. | So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. |
| 131 | فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ | "Now fear Allah, and obey me. | So guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me | Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. |
| 133 | أَمَدَّكُمْ بِأَنْعَامٍ وَبَنِينَ | "Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons. | He has given you abundance of cattle and children | Hath aided you with cattle and sons. |
| 134 | وَجَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ | "And Gardens and Springs. | And gardens and fountains. | And gardens and watersprings. |
| 137 | إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا خُلُقُ الْأَوَّلِينَ | "This is no other than a customary device of the ancients. | This is naught but a custom of the ancients. | This is but a fable of the men of old. |
| 138 | وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ | "And we are not the ones to receive Pains and Penalties!" | And we are not going to be punished. | And we shall not be doomed. |
| 141 | كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ الْمُرْسَلِينَ | The Thamud (people) rejected the messengers. | Samood gave the lie to the messengers | (The tribe of) Thamud denied the messengers (of Allah) |
| 143 | إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ | "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. | Surely I am a faithful messenger to you | Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you. |
| 144 | فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ | "So fear Allah, and obey me. | Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me. | So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. |
| 147 | فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ | "Gardens and Springs. | In gardens and fountains. | In gardens and watersprings. |
| 150 | فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ | "But fear Allah and obey me. | Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me. | Therefor keep your duty to Allah and obey me. |
| 151 | وَلَا تُطِيعُوا أَمْرَ الْمُسْرِفِينَ | "And follow not the bidding of those who are extravagant. | And do not obey the bidding of the extravagant. | And obey not the command of the prodigal. |
| 153 | قَالُوا إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مِنَ الْمُسَحَّرِينَ | They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! | They said: You are only of the deluded ones. | They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched. |
| 157 | فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا نَادِمِينَ | But they ham-strung her: then did they become full of regrets. | But they hamstrung her, then regretted. | But they hamstrung her, and then were penitent. |
| 160 | كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ الْمُرْسَلِينَ | The people of Lut rejected the messengers. | The people of Lut gave the lie to the messengers. | The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah). |
| 162 | إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ | "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. | Surely I am a faithful messenger to you. | Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you. |
| 163 | فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ | "So fear Allah and obey me. | Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me. | So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. |
| 168 | قَالَ إِنِّي لِعَمَلِكُمْ مِنَ الْقَالِينَ | He said: "I do detest your doings." | He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your | He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. |
| 170 | فَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ أَجْمَعِينَ | So We delivered him and his family,- all | So We delivered him and his followers all. | So We saved him and his household, every one. |
| 171 | إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِي الْغَابِرِينَ | Except an old woman who lingered behind. | Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. | Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. |
| 172 | ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا الْآخَرِينَ | But the rest We destroyed utterly. | Then We utterly destroyed the others. | Then afterward We destroyed the others. |
| 178 | إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ | "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. | Surely I am a faithful messenger to you. | Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you. |
| 179 | فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ | "So fear Allah and obey me. | Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me. | So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. |
| 182 | وَزِنُوا بِالْقِسْطَاسِ الْمُسْتَقِيمِ | "And weigh with scales true and upright. | And weigh (things) with a right balance. | And weigh with the true balance. |
| 185 | قَالُوا إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مِنَ الْمُسَحَّرِينَ | They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! | They said: You are only of those deluded. | They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched. |
| 188 | قَالَ رَبِّي أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ | He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." | He said: My Lord knows best what you do. | He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. |
| 193 | نَزَلَ بِهِ الرُّوحُ الْأَمِينُ | With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth. | The Faithful Spirit has descended with it. | Which the True Spirit hath brought down |
| 195 | بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِيٍّ مُبِينٍ | In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. | In plain Arabic language. | In plain Arabic speech. |
| 203 | فَيَقُولُوا هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنْظَرُونَ | Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" | Then they will say: Shall we be respited? | Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? |
| 204 | أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ | Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? | What! do they still seek to hasten on Our punishment? | Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? |
| 209 | ذِكْرَى وَمَا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ | By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. | To remind, and We are never unjust. | For reminder, for We never were oppressors. |
| 210 | وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ الشَّيَاطِينُ | No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation). | And the Shaitans have not come down with it. | The devils did not bring it down. |
| 214 | وَأَنْذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الْأَقْرَبِينَ | And admonish thy nearest kinsmen. | And warn your nearest relations. | And warn thy tribe of near kindred. |
| 217 | وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى الْعَزِيزِ الرَّحِيمِ | And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. | And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful. | And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. |
| 218 | الَّذِي يَرَاكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ | Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer). | Who sees you when you stand up. | Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) |
| 220 | إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ | For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. | Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. | Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. |
| 222 | تَنَزَّلُ عَلَى كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ | They descend on every lying, wicked person. | They descend upon every lying, sinful one. | They descend on every sinful, false one. |
| 224 | وَالشُّعَرَاءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ الْغَاوُونَ | And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them. | And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. | As for poets, the erring follow them. |
| 226 | وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ | And that they say what they practise not?. | And that they say that which they do not do. | And how they say that which they do not? |
